I get to a garden show twice a year and there is always a man there called Chris who carves and turns. He’s a retired woodworking teacher and now bides his time in the shed. There are lots of wood spirits but he has a penchant carving lizards on things. With that in mind I took out my assorted carving tools and had a go at a carving a lizard. A friend did comment that a least it looks like a lizard.
The image was a quick freehand sketch. This means that the lizard isn’t anything in particular The wood is baltic pine not the best for carving the grain is way too open. At least the timber is soft so progress is quick.
